Now I admit I was one of the people that had given up on Tyson... But have you seen the stats for this year? Tyson give you 2 more points, 2 more rebounds, .5 less block.
Plus he's 10 years younger and comes for way less money (ie a tradable contract)...
Is it just me or did the Bulls blow this one?

Yep. I kept thinking this myself, but Simmons always gives a perspective about contract status. Gotta love the sports guy

If Tyson could make more of his minutes, he would be far and away better than Wallace, but Chandler rarely shuts down the opposing team's center, whereas Ben mostly does. I think the Bulls spent way too much on Wallace, but Chandler isn't half of the player he was supposed to be. He currently plays nearly 32 minutes but averages around 13 points per game, he also has a low amount of shots which means that on offense he is either not in the right offense or he is not developing as an offensive player.
The Bulls didn't blow anything, they overpaid, but they didn't make a mistake by letting Chandler go.

the difference in the two is this; Ben gives the Bulls leadership/ experience in the low post, which is what a young team needs. Tyson, definitely has a huge up side to him, but lacks leadership. The Bulls really need to get Ben some help only then will the signing of Ben be beneficial.

I am a huge Bulls fan and I think they blew this one. Tyson is having a great year and Wallace is old and almost done. Not to mention the ridiculous contract they signed him to. I guess Paxson can't win them all.
