I just started ballet on saturday and i love it already!! i was so petrified b4 beginning. I felt like running back out again lol. But once i got over that i was fine and i can't wait to go back again! i think i am going to really love it and hope to progress well. Did any one feel the same on their fist day? the girls made me feel welcome and were really nice to me. I am in grade 2 class and in with the little children. i felt silly at first but they are all so sweet and i don't really mind. besides there are two others that arn't that younger than me who i talk to. i learnt the basic positions first and that jump that you do and you have to stretch your feet as far as possible. what is this called again? sorry 4 blabbing lol.are there any professional ballet dancer out there or even just ballet dancers who do it for fun...well could you tell me some more about the ballet world (if you like) that would may be interest me and have some knowledge bout it b4 i go further into it. thanks.

I'm glad you enjoyed your first ballet class. What you learn will give you health and pleasure all your life, even if you do not become a professional dancer. I wanted to become a ballerina the moment I saw the NYC Ballet's production of The Nutcracker when I was 4 years old. I studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, folk and ballroom dancing at one time or another and majored in dance at college until injury forced me to quit. I still love dancing, though and I love to watch the various dance companies that visit my city. Check out the website below and enjoy!

I love dance. I'm 13 and have been dancing since I was 3. I've wanted to dance ever since I saw my hometown's ballet company perform The Nutcracker when I was a little girl. I can still remember saying to my mom "Mommy that's gonna be me up there one day!" Over the course of 10 years I have taken tap, jazz, modern, ballet, and pointe. My favorite are ballet, jazz, and pointe and those are the three that I am currently doing. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your first class and I know that you will continue learning and enjoying the classes. Make sure that you stretch every day (even when you don't have class) and practice your routines and new moves as often as possible. I have also found that by going to other performances and watching more expierienced dancers that you tend to learn a lot more and you have a better respect and understanding of the art. My motto is always to expierience as much as possible and to dream big.

I love ballet a lot im thirteen and i firrst saw a nutcracker performance wen i was six. I joined ballet and im currently in grade 5 .im taught by one of the seven teachers who are liscenced and professional examiners from the royal academy of dance. Do u get examined?? I am with younger kids by like 2 years but its a little wierd bc there isnt much to talk about! I think that you should learn ahead of the game so your more advanced than the others? Grade 2 ..i dont remeber.....um like maybe try some turns..im sure you can do them quite easily :) . Also now simple ballet terms like grand jete, and other ones that i cant spell. Um maybe you should audition for some productions thats a really great way to show of talent. Hope i helped!!!

i'm 15 adn have been doing dance since i was 3! so i don't really remeber my first day but i LOVE ballet. it just gets better the better you get i am on my dance studios competition team and love it too! the only thing i don't love is saturday ballet practices for 4 hours and being at the dance studio 4 days a week but what can i say i live to dance! also every bone in my body pops from doing it so much but i get used to it! i can honestly say i think ballet is TOUGH especallily once you get into pointe now that hurts lol! i think the jump your talking about is a grande jete` if i'm thinking of the right one. at a beginner level they might just call it a leap! good luck and have fun!

Hey I was just like you! I started ballet when I was 13 years old and I was in a class with all the little ones too. Because you are older you will probably find that you progress faster and can go through the grades quicker. It will also be easier because you really want to be there and want to learn. Its possible to skip grades as I did so you will eventually be with people of a similar age. So glad to hear you love it. Continue and enjoy!

If you are however striving to improve you're vertical and you are looking to get the hands over the wheel, set Vert Shock to the test, a program you will find it here https://tr.im/5gFb5  and provide it a try, you will end up taken aback of how quickly you can be a beast hopper in the event that you teach the proper way.
This system won't cause you to jump 1000s of times because Vert Shock was produced and employed by true elite level basketball players.
When it comes down seriously to it, in the event that you genuinely wish to leap larger, you simply discovered the most effective process in the world to complete so. Any way might just be described as a waste of time.
