My dr says the best thing is to take ibuprofen. Start taking it a day or two before your period starts. It helps keep inflammation down. You can also use a heating pad. If you are on the go, look into those heat packs for your back. I think they may have ones for cramps too though.

Different women have deifferent answers to this. Some prefer herbal remedies, for some normal painkillers are better. Some think exercise helps, some finds it makes it worse.

For me personally, curling up in a warm bed with a couple of painkillers and plenty of water helps a bit. I've also heard that eating bananas can help, in fact any fruit, so get plenty of vitamins.

exercise. I know its the last thing you want to do when you have them, know that from experience, but it really does help (surprisingly). There's that option or ummm darn what are those pills called, specifically for period pain, ahhh naprogesic, oops, lol been a while since I"ve had to take it (found was only really bad when I was a teenager).

heating pad
massages
stretching (if you have the energy)

And eat alot of fruits and vegetables. I remember I had ate sweet plaintains and steamed broccoli and I swore that stopped my cramps. LOL

A week before your period don't eat a lot of meat, and caffeine I notice when I do i have some terrible cramping.
