I would prefer to be blown at the dinner table, but if the need arose to blow my nose at the table, I would. I would rather blow it then have it end up in my meal.

yes, and I don't know why it's so offensive? Could you imagine eating a really hot chili and having to get up every 5 minutes to blow your nose? As long as you're as clean and polite as you can be about it, it doesn't bother me.
