Each has the capacity for shallowness.
It just depends on the circumstances involved.

We are each gender (and sexual orientation) shallow on some topics and less so in others. In my working life (7 pm and I'm still here since 8am) I can be extremely pedantic or involved, in social environments I am much more shallow.

To find an answer from a general population is futile. Men are supposed to be more technically intense and women less so. Women are regarded as being more emotionally intense and men more shallow. How to quantify levels of shallowness across such diverse areas?

Can't be done, qualitatively.

Women are so shallow its unbelievable. Men like attractive women, period. Women like guys that have money, power, or are popular. Personality is the last thing on their sub-human minds. Good fathers? How much does he make?
Women are so shallow that I can't believe it. They're self-centered, egotistical, greedy creatures that only look out for themselves. most of them deserve what they get.

Men? C'mon, men think about sex every 7 seconds and it's the main drive in their lives. Women are in search of love. These two facts are why I feel sorry for straight women.
