I would recommend The Aquarium downtown, it is a very neat and fun place, there are large aquariums inside the restaurant and outside there's a big ferris wheel and other rides too. Chuy's is a fun upbeat place to get REALLY good yet nonexpensive Mexican food. Benihana's is also neat, they cook the food right in front of you and do tricks with it and stuff.

Don't go somewhere lame like Bennigan's or Applebee's that another girl said...there's lots more fun and good places to go to! The Rainforest Cafe is very very neat, I believe there's one located by Katy Mills Mall. There is also a restaurant located downton called The Spindletop that is at the top of the building and the restaurant slowly turns...that is not a very good description of it so here is the website http://www.spindletopathyatt.com/
But keep in mind that it's a bit pricey and some people probably will not really know what the stuff is on the menu lol, but it's a good and unique place nonetheless.

Alright those are all I can think of, hope I've helped some!

I wonder if the Great Caruso is still open. Singing waiters, great food. But that was years ago.

I just checked b4-u-eat.com and the building burned in December '06 and the restaurant closed.

Ah... got one for you. I don't know what part of town you're in, but try Magic Island. I haven't been there in a while, but I had a great time. In addition, they now have a new chef. It is on 59 at Kirby.

My comment on Dave and Busters... fun place, but the food is awful. It is like Bennigans with games. Waste for a prom. The Cheesecake Factory is more of a lunch place than a dinner place.

I consider Cheesecake production facility - yet get a Reservation it is all going to matter on the place prom is at and what path you're taking to get there. seek for someplace that takes reservations considering which you would be happening a top eating-out night. provide some extra data and individuals would have the skill to help extra.

Jillian's at the Edward Marquee. Great fun and good food. Chuy's for great Mexican food. Carmelo's on Memorial (west) for romantic Italian. The Spaghetti Warehouse downtown.
Real upscale would be Bice Restuarant (world famous Itaian at the Galleria---you must make reservations.) Have fun and be safe!

We went to Benihanna's for prom. The food is delicious, it is lots of fun (they cook right in front of you, and are hilarious, throwing food on your plate and stuff!) it's pretty upscale so we didn't feel out of place in prom dresses, and it's reasonably priced (depending on your budget). There are several around Houston. Hope this helps!

anything in Kemah. The Aquarium down town would be cool. But if you are looking for fun, I would have to agree with previous poster and say Dave & Busters.

Back in my day....I went to Americas on Post Oak, we had a good time. Very hip, romantic, and the prices are midrange. 15-30 dollars or so a plate.

Try the cheesecake factory. The food is great and not too expensive and you won't look out of place dressed up.
