Are your expectations of people too high?

Do people let you down or are you nicely surprised by them?

I just wait to see how people unvail! I don't have high expectations but i know when i've found a good thing.. someone very sweet and unique and with a sweet tooth that could match mine! ;-)

I never expect much of people because i know that their not capable of meeting high standards. But is n't this reality ?
not everybody is going to be perfect if that was the case life would be boring and those small things would n't matter anymore.
And it does make it all the more pleasing when they do something that you least expect eventhough it can be a rare occurance LOL.

No,i know they will let me down so i am not shocked when it happens. I gave up on people i work retail so i no the worst of people and how they are to each other, i am treated like a nobody and just a clerk.

There is a saying in therapy circles "I am not here to live up to your expectations".

It is damaging to yourself and the other person to have un-negotiated expectations. Say you are marrying a person and you expect them to change to be more like you want them to be. Have you checked it out with your intended? If you haven't one of you is going to be very disappointed.

i expect nothing from anyone i find it's easier to deal with people when you let them act how they wish to rather then put pressure on them to act how you think they should
