Once there was a United States of America it would almost be self-evident why immigrants would choose freedom - Rights - to make a better life for themselves and families. There was land a man could farm, a voice in one's government, religious choice, a system of laws vs royal decrees or whim of a dictator.

Immigrant came to America because America was portrayed to be the place full of possibilities and the land of the free. You can become anything you want to be in america with no limits.

The USA is not the only country receiving immigrants. We are all immigrants in one form or another afterall

Why not, if they believe that they can live a better life here. also people aren't only immigrating to the u.s.

Because it was seen as the land of opportunity. Some came because of religious freedom, freedom to make money if you worked hard for it, etc.
