The issues are not the abuse, but the reasons for the abuse.

Some people have been caught in a whirlwind of addcition by simply trying to have fun.

Others have been caught by addiction by emotional pain.

Yet others have been caught up simply by prescription for physical pain.

By far the largest rate of failure in sobriety are those whose emotional issues are so painful, that they know death is eminent and hope for it.

I believe that support systems should be available to everyone needing substance abuse treatment, mental and physical health treatment as well.

I am a administrative Asst. aka secretary for therapists who give treatment to the community of sex offenders on parole with or without alcohol issues. The Govt. seems to think it helps. It's a job for me and I like the employees and my boss I work with - otherwise I wouldn't do it. Some cases and very few benefit from it because it was a 'romeo and juliet' scenario and they won't do it again. I think it helps those who WANT to be helped. Period.
