I have a dozen or so empty Epson ink cartridges. Where in the US can I get a good cash or refund value for them (as well as help the environment)?? Staples used to have this great promotion, $3 for every cartridge, but now it's limited to few original brands. These are NOT original cartridges.
A discount for new cartridges is probably not what I'm looking for, since I'm already getting these for $6 apiece.

Try Ebay I see people sell ANYTHING on there all the time I am sure you could sell your ink cartridges there too.

Unfortunetly you can not make money from empty Epson ink cartridges since they are compatible cartridges and it is not possible to use them to remanufacture Epson Printer Ink Cartridges. At this point there is not much you can do other than put those things in trash.

I have tried to do this myself, and thats why I know it very well. I even ended up emailing Epson Corporation few times, but they don't even get their own cartridges (not to mention compatibles).

It is very sad.

Here is a good list of cartridges you can make money from. If you like recycling inkjet cartridges, you can find this service very easy actually:

They're compatible inkjet cartridges, so they're not worth anything to a refiller. If you're up to the task of refilling them and resetting the chips yourself, you can delay the inevitable for a while.

If you're not keen on refilling them yourself, call your city recycling department to see if they can recycle them. If not, toss them in the trash. It's not a green solution but there's little else you can do.
