My sister in law just had a miscarriage on Friday. Obviously she is devastated. Ive had 2 m/c's and am trying to be really supportive right now. I feel horrible though....like Im going through it agian. Im 14 weeks pregnant and she was right behind me. I feel really guilty right now. I was thinking of having her and my other sister in law over for some munchies and a good chick flick. What do you think? I though it might give her a chance to open up and talk if she needs too. She really confides in me b/c I have gone through this. Any suggestions on a really good movie would be helpful. Thanks, you guys are always sooo helpful!

That sounds like a great idea. The world needs more people like you that care.

The best thing you can do is be there for her. Let her know you are there if she wants to talk, vent or even cry. I have had two miscarriages and the pain of losing those babies still is with me. Reassure her that it does get easier with time. I would suggest she have something special made with the baby's would be birthdate on it to remember the little angel. As for a movie- Pick a good comedy. This will help lift her spirits. Also remember how important prayer is when dealing with a tragedy. God bless

You sound like a wonderful person. When my best friend had a miscarriage I went over to her house and we talked and talked. Maybe talking might be better than a movie. I'm not sure. It was SO hard to approach the situation. You know the situation the best. It's best to open up though. The more you keep it inside the worse you feel.
I'd say do what you think is right. Like I said before it takes lots of guts to talk to someone in that situation and I'm glad you want to. :)

You can offer, but don't feel bad if she turns you down. Even though you have gone through it, she may not want to talk to you, because you are, well pregnant. So it may be more painful to be with a pregnant person imo.

What a fantastic idea!! Whenever I am in "the world can go to hell" mood, I put on Steel Magnolias -- it has everything, you will cry - laugh hysterically and a happy ending. Good luck & God Bless.
