The best way to clean a ceramic cooktop is to sprinkle a nonabrasive cleanser or baking soda over the surface and rub with a synthetic scouring pad or sponge. Rinse well with clear water, and buff with a soft cloth for a clean finish. Here are a few other handy suggestions:

Wait until the top cools to wipe up spills. Never use a wet sponge or cloth on a hot panel.

Don't set soiled pots or pans on the surface; they can mar it permanently.

Abrasive cleaning products will scratch the surface, discoloring it and making it difficult to keep clean.

I had problems with mine, too! I used the stuff that came with the stove, but it's more like a polish than a cleaner.

I tried everything I could think of and the only thing that's worked consistantly is a scotch-brite kitchen sponge with some patience and a little elbow grease. I use the rough side of the sponge GENTLY and it hasn't scratched the surface though I've been doing it like that for months now. I only use the sponge on the burns, otherwise, I use regular kitchen cleaners (windex, etc,) and the polish once a week to keep it looking like new.

Good luck!

If you want to protect the ceramic stovetop from chemical products try Sol-U-Mel cleanser. It just works great but at the same time it doesn't hurt surface of your ceramic stovetop. And also it's really safe for you to breathe in when you clean it. Moreover you can use this for ink&marker, crayon, paint, mold, wine... it's really good.

Try the Mr. Clean Magic Erase Bar. It will take some elbow grease but it is the only thing I have found that works on the baked on stuff. It also works on everything else, like marker, pen marks on counter tops, walls, tables. Make sure you use water with it.

Get some "Barkeepers Friend" at your local grocery. It should be with the cleaning chemicals or cleansers. It works great!!! It comes in a container similar to regular cleansers.

Try scraping it with a single edged razor.
