hi... i started on the pill just after christmas (microgynon... or something?) and the first month was really icky, like i was spotting throughout the whole month, i thought it was just my body adjusting to the difference.

the second month was fine, no spotting or anything, but now in my third month and i finished my period a week ago, and my discharge seems to be heavier than it was before going on the pill. is this normal? im considering changing pills, but dont know if this will make any difference.

its white and stains my underwear (which is really irritating... will have to start wearing a panty liner!) but it makes me feel really wet throughout the day which i dont like.

is this normal, or what does it sound like?

any answers will be appreciated.

It sounds like maybe the pill you're on has too much synthetic estrogen. Give it another month or two and see if it doesn't correct itself. If it doesn't, consider changing to a different mono-phasic pill (one chemical all month long) if you're on one that has different chemicals every week. I do believe however that this one is mono-phasic so maybe consider changing to one like LoEstrin or YAZ.

Also, be careful with wearing panty-liners for extended periods of time. Too much PL usage can lead to yeast infections, which can also be exacerbated by pill usage. I suggest that you wear all-cotton underwear and go to the restroom more often to wipe away the excess discharge, rather than using PL's for the moisture.

i had all of that on microgynon. cant tell you what to do other than change your pill. speak to your local GU clinic rather than the GP coz they have no idea what they are talking about. i decided the pill was not right for me and am not on it. it causes all sorts of probs anyway. the white discharge may be thrush. this is caused by taking the pill sometimes. again, see GU not GP.

You should call the closest medical center and just ask to speak with a medical assistant and then go from there. But I believe that it is normal considering you recently just started the pill.
