Rainbow!
We purchased our current Rainbow approximately 14 years ago.
If you are not familiar with them I will tell you.
This system does not use filter bags, etc, it uses water. Which is awesome because the water catches the dust, dirt, hair, and everything else and won't (can't) release it back out into the air. This is great for households like mine with lots of allergies. You can also add different fragrances to the water and this will fill your home with a great smell (depending on what you put in, I use lemon juice). The power of this system is unreal, during our demonstration, the salesman placed a handful of dirt under our mattress, the rainbow sucked it through the mattress, it also comes with an extra large plastic bag in which you place, furniture cushions, pillows, etc, it will shrink 4 cushions down to the size of a bed pillow. (and return them to normal size, clean). In 13 years, the only thing we have had to replace was the gasket that fits between the bowl and the motor, I think it was about 3 dollars. No I don't work for the company, I am a stay at home mom, that just happens to absolutely rely on the vacuum. Good Luck, I hope this helped. (oh yeah, I think we paid about 600.00 for this system, and it also comes with carpet and drapery cleaning system as well.

I have the Dyson DC15 Animal. It's got a ball so is perfect for getting into small corners with a quick flick of the wrist (once you get used to it) and also cleans better than any other vacuum cleaner I've tried. After a few uses you'll wonder where did all that dirt come from off a relatively clean looking carpet. Lots of accessories and quite easy to clean and a hose attachment that's not fiddly. Expensive but well worth it.

Vacuums are allot like cars everyone has their own opinion which is the best. My opinion is that the best vacuum system is a central vac system however they are very pricey. As far as an upright vacuum I would recommend the Arctic Blue Kenmore Upright Bagfree Vacuum
Sears item #02036720000 Mfr. model #36720
This vacuum is $54.99 it works very well and at that cost you can replace it every couple of years (giving you a brand new vac.)and still be money ahead of buying an expensive vacuum. We use these where I work and they last here around one year. They are used about 4 hours per day so i would say that they should last a couple of years in home use. Mine was about two years old when I put in my central vac unit and it still works very well.

Sounds like the commercial but a Dyson is best! Any model will do! Used one at work and loved it so much I bought one for my home! Kinda pricey though but well worth it! Will last longer that any other vacuum you've had and does all the things it claims to do all the time! This vacuum sucks - Literally!

You know a lot of people say Dyson but I had one and got sick of cleaning the container the dust is collected in. I have eczema and it would flair it up, also from emptying it into the bin, I would have troubles breathing all day with asthma. So if u want to get a reliable vacuum that wont break down and one that protects u from allergies PROPERLY then i suggest SEBO - it's german made and anything german made is superb!

I got a Roomba a few years ago almost as a novelty but that thing rocks! I can use an upright vacuum then let the Roomba go and it will still get things other vacuums cant. Plus it leaves AWSOME vacuum lines which I love.

Great machine!

the bissel bagless ones are excellent, ive owned two. Theyre great for homes with carpet and hard floors, they work on both.

The hoover fusion is by far the best vacuum for carpets and pet hair i have ever found. Its comparable to the dysons, but costs about 1/3. i paid about 130 for mine.

definitely dyson, we bought an upright one a while ago, and it is the best thing we have bought, ours also came with a 5 year warranty to say that it will not lose any suction, and it sucks really well.
