problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at

Determine WHAT is causing the insomnia, correct that and you can sleep on your own.

Doctors treat your symptoms....rarely the CAUSE. So that is why a lot of people have to figure it out for themselves.

Most people prefer to take the easy way out and pop a pill to sleep...I can poke fun at that because I am in the group...and actively seeking what is causing my insomnia...because all the meds are HARD on your liver...and now I am having OTHER health issues. :) Joy.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Exercise...it's one of the best ways to make you sleep better. Also, develop a before bed routine. Don't eat or exercise within an hour or two of bedtime..that will interfere with the body's sleep hormone production. Keep the lights low and do something relaxing. Try to wake up at the same time each morning, too. and look into meditation or keeping a journal...anything to get your mind relaxed so that its not racing at night. Sweet dreams!

Hi! I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. The best thing that works for me is Yoga! lol I know it sounds corny, but I was taking a sleep aid for a while and I just HATE putting medicines into my body if I don't need them. I tried yoga and it amazes me how much healthier, happier, and well rested I am! You can get a beginning Yoga video for probably $10 or borrow one from your local library.

I hope you try it. It may take a few days before you get used to the positions and feel the positive benefits, but I swear by it! Best wishes to you and sweet dreams! :D

Melatonin is a great supplement that also natually occurs in the body. I take a half one occasionally at bed time. Also, gradually turning the lights down an hour or two before bedtime is helpful. It helps you become naturally sleepy. Also take a warm bath 2 hours before. This type of temporary increase in body temperature 2 hours before bed will help you sleep. Just don't take a bath right before bed because then you will have trouble sleeping for the next two hours. Drink a glass of milk right before bed.

You have to try this it really works,
Hello, just wanted to let you know of a miracle pill that puts you to sleep, available over the counter, is actually very very beneficial for your health, the health of your brain and is only 3 bucks!! I had trouble falling asleep for years. I would lay in bed, and think and think and think for hours before I could fall asleep. It was literally driving me crazy!! I had tried every over the counter sleeping pill on the market and nothing helped. I turned to Nyquil and that did the trick. I had been drinking Nyquil almost every night to go to sleep until I stumbled upon this miracle sanity saving nutritional supplement named MELATONIN. And you can buy it at any GNC health food store. I advocate GNC because the melatonin they use goes through 85 different quality checks before its bottled. Buy the sublingual melatonin. The kind that dissolves underneath your tongue tastes like cherries and it’s good for you!! If you have any questions before you buy it the sales associate at GNC should be able to answer any questions you have. It comes in 1 mg, I take 2 right before bed. The only side effects are weird dreams for the first two nights if any at all. Should be taken at regular bedtimes in the evening.
God Bless
P.S. after you try it and it works don’t forget to tell others about it. You could be saving someone else’s Sanity

take a hot bubble bath, avoid sugar and cokes about an hour or two before bed, and try reading a book or article in bed. Reading always makes me sleepy. You may also want to try some chammomile. Whether you drink it or add it to your bath. Good luck!

Not much. There are drugs that the doctor can prescribe that are basically synthetic man-made versions of the chemicals that your body makes, or at least it's supposed to, under normal conditions. You can try a hot bath, but when you go to sleep, your temperature drops. Don't make yourself uncomfortably cold, but turn the thermostat down a few degrees. Also, have a turkey sandwich for the tryptophan. And if you don't go to sleep within 15 minutes, get up and walk a little. Alternate the 15 minutes trying to sleep with a little walk. This will hopefully also help.
