In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh — more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh — guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

***I don't know how "green" his energy is, but he's paying the local power company an average of $1,359 a month and the gas company an average of $1080 a month.

Maybe they've got special power lines and special gas pipes for green power and green gas.

I don't know.... are you sure you should be using the words Algore and truth in the same sentence??

That being said, do you think he will run for President? I sure hope so, for the sake of every conservative out there!

His house is more than twice the size of the average American home.

The question is, where did the electricity come from? Green energy sources or not? If not, you have a valid point.

Gore's family is old Southern Aristocracy. He father and Grandfather were also Senators.

That said I'm sure you can imagine the lifestyle he was raised in and still lives in today.

That said the RedsStaters should love Gore. The decedent of slave owners. Wealthy respectable Southerner how much more Redpublican can you be?

Go big Red Go

Yeah, I think Al Gore's personal electricity consumption is going to push us over the brink and will cause the oceans to boil.

Al Gore wants everyone else to make sacrifices, but not him and his family. The same with all those Hollywood people who think he's so great.

I read a great line recently about people who drive their Prius to get on their private jet. That's hypocrisy for you!

So, if he can afford it why shouldn't Al Gore own a big house? Your jealousy will get you no where. A large house requires more energy than a little house. The hate mongers on conservative hate radio fail to mention that Al Gore has signed up for green energy and uses the flouescent lights to cut back. He also uses solar energy. Do you do any of these things? Do Hannity, Limbaugh or Coulter? Judging from what I pay for natural gas and the size of my place Al Gore got a deal or isn't using very much.

It's inconvenient for Al Gore. It shows he's a hippocrate like all the other Tinsel Town phonies.

He is just a lying politician, show me a politician from either party that speaks the truth and I will show you flying pigs. It is their job to lie, it is their job to advance their party's agenda, focus on the bigger picture an that is that global warming is here, don't shoot the messenger.

Yes

Al Gore's just a complete hypocrite. If he wants us to do something about Global Warming, maybe he should reduce his emissions first. That's if Global Warming isn't just a hoax to begin with.

Democrats want to tax us to save the planet. Republicans want us to fear terrorism and al qaeda as they spend billions of tax payer dollars. We're screwed! We need a 3rd party.
