Hitler was trying to build a "superior" race, and the Jews didn't fit into his scenario.

The Jews had not done anything bad!! You already got a lot of good answers here, yes, the Jews were used as scapegoats for all problems and Hitler and unfortunately many others as well believed in a really insane racist ideology that categorized mankind in inferior and superior races, and the Jews were seen as the "worst race" in this. All kinds of evil were ascribed to them, and they were constantly demonized in Nazi propaganda. Nazi ideology also had ideals of "racial purity" and the Jews were seen as an "impurity".
Why the Jews? They were a minority. The Romanies (Gypsies) were a minority too and they were killed too. In case of the Jews there was also a lot of old hatred for religious reasons (they don't believe in Jesus and were also accused of his crucifixion).
Many people were killed by the Nazis, and none of them had done anything bad. The Nazis didn't need a comprehensible reason to kill. They simply declared innocent people as bad and inferior and decided they would not have a right to live.

In your question you write "Germans" and "Germany" instead of Nazis. It is true that many Germans indeed were Nazis at that time, but not all wanted to kill the Jews. It is still an unsettled question how much the German population knew about the Holocaust when it happened. However only few did anything to help the Jews, and most followed Hitler. There was certainly a lot of antisemitism among Germans at that time, it was already there before Hitler came to power and became worse when people became influenced by the Nazi propaganda.

Germany did not invade or confront Switzerland in the previous and by using international conflict II using incredibly impression Swiss banks had on the German conflict gadget, and additionally because of the fact Hitler knew that the Swiss military ought to heavily project the German military. besides the fact that Switzerland is a independent u . s . a ., they had (and nonetheless have) between the desirable armies interior the international. If Germany would have invaded, the German conflict gadget would have got here to a grinding halt scuffling with the properly-knowledgeable Swiss interior the Alps. yet another ingredient well worth including is that each and one and all Swiss voters are required to serve interior the militia in some unspecified time interior the destiny. If Germany would have attacked, the completed inhabitants would have been called into lively accountability. One final interesting ingredient is that Switzerland served because of the fact the only get away for some intense-score officers of the 0.33 Reich in the direction of the tip of the conflict because of the fact the Allied forces began to embody Germany. Many have been able to flee to Switzerland with the intention to dodge the brutal Russians coming from the East. Many Nazis who have been able to flee to Switzerland have been able to dodge prosecution, and for some even death, after the conflict.

The Jews were accused of nearly everything that went wrong. It was asserted that they were all rich while the Aryans were barely getting by. The Nazis also accused them as the reason they lost WWI and were stuck with the Treaty of Versailles. It wasn't true, but it presented them with a scapegoat for why so many people were starving.
At first they didn't know what to do with the Jews, some suggested sending them to palistine or some uninhabited island. But then others said that they wanted a permanent, or final, solution.

The keepers of the purse...Bankers and commerce would not stand for the head of state mode of funding the war effort. Miss guided people think it was religion and in the end I follow the money even if the bank made gestures there were limits and that drove leadership wild. Free thinkers became a problem and the wealth of this segment did not produce war mongers. I think it is another case of influencing public opinion. Pick a race of people and blame them for all of the problems of society. We did it in the USA with drugs and war we blamed the Chinese for opium use. We connected opium dens with the middle class female usage used fear of rape to create a law. We blamed the blacks for being high and using drugs to make them crazy and in this state they would rape white women. The Germans found a way to bl aim all the ill things in society on the Jews.

Let me start off saying that Hitler, was CRAZY. He was not all there, if you know what I mean. He believed that there was a "superior race" which he called "Aryans", which were people with blonde hair and blue eyes, and he thought that they were "true" Germans (which is stupid coz he himself was not). And he thought all other races (included black people, deformed or mentally handicapped people, and gypsies, but he also tried to exterminate alcoholics, prostitutes, hobos etc. by sending them to concentration camps) were inferior and he didn't want them in Germany. He hated Jews with a passion, for no apparent reason. He was born in Austria, and for a period of time in his life he was a beggar (homeless) in Vienna, and it's thought that that's where his hate for Jews (who were wealthy and well educated) started. So nobody knows really why he wanted to exterminate all other races, we just know he was totally insane. In his last few weeks alive, when he was hiding out in the Fhurer bunker in Berlin, he went insane, he was paranoid and deluded and totally out of his mind.
He was a sick, insane, inhuman, cruel, asshole who didnt deserve to live.

Divide and conquer. Absolute power corrupts, absolutely. Economics and the Aryan race. The ultimate Jewish solution. History books are full of answers to that question, and if we don't remember the answers, we are doomed to relive history. I hope not. Even in today's environment we swear it could never happen again, but it starts little, like taking guns away from civilians, then banning certain books, then pointing the finger at minorities. Of course after the first acceptance, the rest comes easy. Don't let it happen, be vigilante, and remember basic human rights. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts, absolutely.

For the same reason that people throughout history have done stuff like the Auto Dafe, Inquisition, progroms, Austrian ghettos, diasporas, Alfred Dreyfuss affair etc.

Jews are more successful on average than any other culture because learning is embedded in their culture.

They're foreign or alien.

One can interpret the bible as being anti-semitic, or pro-Jewish depending on your own interpretation.
