Depends on your definition of a "good" law school. Top ranked? No. Don't kid yourself. 2.8 is not a "fair" GPA. Yes, take a look at a rankings list such as the US News one and see what the average GPAs are. Just remember, the lower the GPA, it likely means that person had a higher LSAT score to make up for the lower GPA.

A 2.8 is going to make it REALLY hard to make it to a first tier law school. However, there are 2nd tier schools I could still call "good". But, again, a 2.8 makes it tough for even those unless you get a LSAT score that is way higher than would be suspected from a 2.8.

The only thing would be if you were a science or engineering student. Those majors are notoriously hard, so you get some slack for having a lower GPA and it's not too surprising to see a pretty high LSAT from those people. Still, for 1st tier, you'd still like to see above a 3.0 for a real realistic chance.

I'd also like to see more descriptions of the work experience and extra currics before I'd call them "awesome". You talk to people who went to the top law schools and it's crazy how impressive these people can be.

Your best bet would be to check out the US News rankings and see the average stats of people that were accepted. If you really want to go to law school, go to the best school that you can in an area that you want to work in (this is key...very difficult to get a job outside of your school's locale unless you go to a top-15 school).

If you do really well during your first year, you can try to transfer to a better school. I transferred from a school ranked about 50 to a school in the top 15 and I have friends in my transfer class that transferred here from tier 4 schools. However, law school is difficult and transferring is not certain, so make sure you go to a school in an area that you can see yourself living/working and then just start working your butt off....it's a LONG three years.

Sure, but you may want to work on your vocabulary and spelling first.
