you wait until you are 5 months and get the ultrasound no wifes tale mystery can give you a for sure answer like the pee in drano or the crystal swinging over the stomach or because you carry this way none of that is as accurate as the anatomy ultrasound

Wedding Ring Method: Take a wedding ring, tie it to a piece of string and dangle it above the Mom's belly while she's lying down. If it swings in a circular motion, you're having a girl. If the ring moves back and forth like a pendulum, you're having a boy.

Ultarsound isn't completely 100%, but it's THE safest way. An amneocentesis is 100% accurate, but you run the risk of starting labor because it's so invasive. (they stick a needle into your abdomen, puncturing the amneotic sac and draw a small amount of fluid for testing.)

BTW, I carried wide and all outside with my first girl... I was sick, had all kinds of problems.

My second, I looked like I swallowed a football. I didn't get sick. I walked 6 miles a night... each pregnancy is different... don't let the wive's tales fool you!!!!

Wait till the doc does your ultrasound. That is the best way to tell. Although I have heard if your butt is getting big, and if you have terrible morning sickness chances are its a boy. Thats my case. I was never sick with my two girls and never really gained much weight in the hip/butt area. This time totally different. I am 6 mos and still getting morning sickness. I say wait till the ultrasound.

After you ultrasound at 20-25 weeks usually is the only close to fool proof way none of the wives tales really work. They may work for some and not others and thats just luck of the draw.

Ultrasound.

Also, a good way is to ask the doctor how fast the baby's heart is beating. If it is 150 or above chances are pretty good that it is a girl. 140 or below is a good chance to be a boy.

You ask the ob/gyn at your 20 week ultrasound (at this point the baby's genitals are done developing and they can tell you)
