I don't think there's a catch. What did the ad say?
Here is their page for the corporate jobs which most all pay that range. Of course you likely need a college degree and some experience.

Why do you believe the postal service placed the ad? Legitimate USPS hiring is advertised on USPS.COM by following the employment link.
The ad you saw will get you a book on how to pass the post office exam at a cost of several hundred dollars. It's the same book you could get free from your library or for 20 dollars at a book store.
Most new hires will earn $10-20/hour and will only work part time.
The 57 K might be achieved after 30 years.

It's probably that scam outfit that wants to sell you a course on how to pass the Post Office employment test. This course can run from about $30 to about $300 .... and claims to give you an edge on passing a test which requires quick reading of zip codes and addresses etc.
Better to save your money and go to the local Post Office --- if you are interested --- and go fill out an application or find out which PO may have vacancies.
Most jobs offered in the paper which advertise an attractive salary are only comeon ads for some type of useless course or employment scheme.

I saw the same thing posted on a telephone pole near where I live. It had an 800 number at the bottom. I think it's bogus. Postal jobs are government jobs and I don't really think they post flyers for their job openings. Thousands of people apply for those jobs, so I would imagine the postal service already has an adequate number of applicants to fill those openings.

Believe it or not postal workers are government employees and are well compensated. I think it has alot to do with that saying "through rain or snow or hail and wind, the post will always be delivered" Basically if there's a tornado you have to go to work, but at least you get all government holidays off, I personally have never gotten presidents day off.

are you sure it was the postal service that placed the ad, or a job agency?
yes, there are agencies that will blow smoke, telling you how you'll get a job at the USPS, but first you have to pay for their service and enroll in one of their training schools.

You could get shot by a fellow postal worker and watch out for the dog bites.

the catch is about a million other people will also be applying for the job. Also there may not really be an opening right now. They could be gathering resumes for their files.
