chose a game you know, like for example, parchisi, and just change something about it. let's say, make it harder to get around the board. odd #'s rolled with will go backward and the evens move forward. 6 and 5 will either let you move back 11 or 1 space forward or maybe 1 man forward 6 and another one back 5 all on the same move. might work.

Monopoly, Scrabble, Risk, Game of Life, Stockticker, Snakes and ladders, etc are game boards that started off original but now they are made with different variations or rules.
Don't know what exactly your looking for. Be imaginative, find a game like no other and your game will be original.
