Mix 1/4 teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent in 1 cup of lukewarm water. Blot the stained area with the solution, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. You may have to rinse several times to fully remove the solution.
If the stain persists, try blotting it with a solution of 1 cup white vinegar to 2 cups water, and rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Good luck.

Use a stain remover spray. Let it soak into the carpet, blot it, and repeat until the stain is gone.

Get some oxyclean powder, and mix it with hot water in a bowl until it gets sudsy. Then use a towel and scrub it out. I've got two boys and two dogs, so I do it often. Takes out gatorade, Hi-C, and even dog poo! :-)

Try Resolve Spotmagic. I used it to clean up red juice spilled on light beige carpet.
