I vote D as well, because...

A. Deviance to me is a straying from the norm, and while this doesn't help our relationships, in and of itself would play only a part.
B. Maladjustment also doesn't help, it is when we fail to properly adapt to life in general and a maladjusted person will likely have trouble forming or keeping friendships, but again it doesn't necessarily separate us from people.
C. Aggression is not a good trait either, the options certainly are not leaving much room for error, but then two aggressive people may become friends, or an aggressor and a pacifist's relationship might work as well.
D. Alienation would be an internal mechanism that doesn't allow a relationship to happen for its very nature, and by a margin the one attitude or trait that would be most responsible for becoming separated from other folks.
