I know it doesn't explode or anything, but I'm sure if you leave it on long enough it'll burn your finger off if you touch it.

Wow, shades of the 60's --- groovy dude. Leave it on, till the bulb burns out and then replace the bulb.

my dad used to have one on top of the TV that was on nonstop for about 2 years... that was about 25 years ago though, newer lava lamps might be different. but they don't really get all that hot, and I doubt it would be dangerous to leave it on all the time. The bulb might not last as long if it's always on though.

Hi! My little brother has one. He leaves his one all day and sometimes all night! He does turn it off though, only because he still doesnt live in his own house and its a waste of electircity. At least, thats what he told me! So you can leave it on for as long as you want, dont worry, it shouldnt burn your finger off! But it will get hot, but not scorching! Trust me I know!
