Lewis and Clark?

What are the hardships that Lewis and Clark faced on their expedition to the Pacific Ocean? Please answer as soon as possible, my project is due March fifth.

A huge hardship of the portage they had to take around the great falls. They had exspected it to take only half a day instead it took over a month to transport boats, supplies, and men.

They definatly had many physical elements to deal with because the labor and work was not stop. Plysipcal ailments that are common were frostbite, hunger, fatigue, diseases from encounters with indians.

Their travel for most of the voyage was upstream so that was a constant battle. Along with upkeep of their boats.

Some of the natives they encountered were not very friendly. Some villages stole from them and even attacked them.

They were traveling into unknown territory--had no idea what to expect. They had to find their own food--either by getting it from the Indians or by killing game. When it rained, they got wet. If a canoe paddle broke, they had to carve another one. If a branch poked a hole in their shirt, they just had to try to mend it--couldn't replace it. They had to write down all they learned about the topography, plants, peoples, etc., so they could report on it. If they got tired, they had to keep on going. If another member of the group got on their nerves, tough, they still had to live with him.
