I have to rub excessively to get all the sleep out of my eyes, is this bad for my vision?

Not unless you do it so hard that you injure the eye.

Probably not...unless you rub a LOT, very hard and often.

Although if you have to rub your eyes this much you may want to consider seeing your doctor as the cause of the "sleep" may be something more serious.

No it won't affect your vision, but if it's crusty, you might scratch your cornea and get an infection. Use warm water to soften the "crusty" sleep and gently wipe it out with a warm washcloth, wiping towards your nose, to the inner corner of your eyes.

if your fingers are dirty or you rub wayy 2 bad then it probably is bad for your vision in the long run

don;t rub it real hard as it will cause these black dots to appear.use a warm washrag and try to get them that way,,,,if it;s a lot of crusts you should get that checked out ,,,LOL
