Possible, yes. Difficult, double yes! I worked full time and went to school full time. My school was 1 1/2 hours away from my house and job, so after working 8 hours, I had to drive 1 1/2 hours then sit in class for 3-4 hours then drive another 1 1/2 hours home. I did this for 4 years while being a single mother of three kids. I had no life because all I did was homework what little time I was home and I sacrificed a great deal of time with my children. Was it worth it? Yes, and then some. Now, my children have so much more respect for me and I am able to support them through having a career instead of having a job just to make ends meet.

It all depends on your personal study habits/needs. If you are the type who can get work done fast, you might have a life, but if you are the type who is slow with school work, you might not have a life. Also, your sleep needs matter because there will be times you have to sacrifice some of your sleep time to get homework done on time. Can you function on less sleep than normal?

Take time for yourself...apart from school work...to just relax. Work smart and do not make a habit of procrastinating as I started to. It wasn't until I worked on my masters degree when I realized how to alleviate and eliminate much of the stress. I started getting my assignments done right away then I had lots of free time to relax and keep my mind off school. Before then, as I procrastinated, I would spend days trying to relax and enjoy life, then have to pull all-nighters just to finish my work on time. There is no real relaxation when you procrastinate and still have the work hanging over you and weighing down your mind. Apply yourself, devote yourself, and you will find it is all worth it.

I am a singe parent of an 11 year old and a 13 year old. I work full time and go to school full time. I've had this schedule for the past 2 years, so I can tell you it is difficult. I ended up quitting the job I originally had to take one with less responsibility so that helped out. Also I schedule everything now, so I know exactly when I can take my kids and have some quiet time. I generally have one weekend day off so that's fun time for me. My advice is: be sure you have one day where nothing is scheduled so you can have time to catch up and just relax.

If you work full time, how many 'hours' is that in a day? In a week? If you go to school full time, how many hours is that in a day? In a week? How many hours of homework are there every day? Every week? If you can 'add up' all of the hours that you would 'spend' (including lunch and breaks) and can come up with 'enough time to get at least 7 hours of sleep every night' and still have some 'time left over' for doing 'other things' then you will be able to 'do it' ... but 'having a life' sometimes means 'sacrificing now' for 'greater good in the future.' It's up to YOU and ONLY UP TO YOU whether you want to try to do school and work both 'full time' now ...

When I went to Nursing School I was working 40 hrs a week, going to school 40+ hours a week ( with class and hospital clinicals), study time was 20+ hours a week, and I had 3 small kids (7,4, 1). It was hell!!!! but it was worth it.. I was able to get myself out of debt and poverty. I've never regretted it...I take that back, I wished I would have done it sooner..My kids would have had more in their early years.

The stress of the debt was far worse than the stress of school. At least with school, I could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

You can do school in the day time and work at night, or vise verse. It is very hard and tireing to do it this way though and study time is limited. If you have to do it this way you can do it.
