They do not believe in equality of the sexes and they when women take a step forward in aspects of life, not even on par with or surpassing the men, they claim that it is female chauvinism.

I am talking about people unhappy with the idea of equal sexes e.g. same wages for both sexes doing the same jobs, same career advancement opportunities, destroying the mindset of women as homemakers, that women are subservient to their husbands.

It is very sad that feminism is not appreciated, but I think that men do not appreciated it because they are scared to loose power over women. They should not be...a kind, intelligent and sexy man is always powerful!
On the other hand women are scared to loose the protection of men.
I can understand those fears: it is difficult to accept new ways, but it also opens up lots of opportunity for both. In time we will see...

Feminism has an image problem but some of it is self-created. A lot of posturing went on in the 70s and 80s that alienated a lot of people - men and women both.
Most educated people believe in equal rights for all human beings but the problem of what equality is exactly remains to be defined.
As an example, people can be legally equal without making the same amount of money. Does equality entail exact parity in income? For the same kind of work it should but the sexes do not engage in precisely the same kinds of work. And the work they choose and get does reflect what sex they are. Women often focus on family matters more than career and therefore may not advance to the same levels of work experience as men. But should women be more career oriented? That's an individual choice.
When feminists talk about wage disparities between the sexes this fact is usually not mentioned. That seems dishonest to some people. Thus a certain kind of anger is directed toward feminists.

First you ask a question and then you provide the answer yourself. The men who have a problem with certain aspects of feminism laid them out. The issues I read about were not the points you laid in their mouth. How about you reread what the men did post and try to comprehend their postings, instead of an he said she said "question".
TAPESTRY good point you provided. What you failt to see though, with women moving into the workforce and therefore increasing supply for workers wages will keep staying low, untill less and less families will be able to survive on ONE income. Remy prostitution and the trafficing of women has been on a steep rise for the past 20 years. I now have literally prostitutes at my doorstep, where there werent any 20 years ago. If anything women are loosing power, not gaining it, because no man takes into account what a woman has to say after having been taken to the cleaners ending an one sided marriage where she demands.

"They do not believe in equality of the sexes and they when women take a step forward in aspects of life, not even on par with or surpassing the men, they claim that it is female chauvinism."

I'll make this short and sweet, everything is perfectly fine up to the "or surpassing the men". You want to be treated better than women were in the century previous, no problem. You want to be my equal, absolutely. You want to be my better, f*** off you female chauvinist.

Why? Other than the fact that feminism is about nothing more than special rights without responsibilities for women, they have nothing against feminism.
You are incorrect in your assumption that people are angry with feminism because they don't believe in equality. It is a belief in equality that makes them angry. Feminism is NOT about equality but superiority.
FYI, since you seem ignorant of the fact, women's rights surpassed men's many years ago and are still climbing.
Other than the wage-gap myth, where do you feel women are treated substandard?
Politics? Women choose not to run and many who do are not elected by the largest number of voters: women.
Employment: It is illegal to deny employment to anyone based on their sex and it is illegal to withhold salary increases and promotions similarly.
Family Law? No way. Women are treated as children in family courts. In over 80% of the cases, women are granted custody and it is not because fathers don't want it. It is solely do to sexism.
There is nothing wrong with a woman getting ahead, even surpassing men around her. What is wrong is allowing unqualified women to advance beyond their ability just because of their sex, which is the aim of feminism.
Exactly what legislated rights do men have that is denied women? (HINT: none).
In every endeavor, women have equal rights to that of men but oddly enough, fewer responsibilities.

Read Jack Holland's book "Misogyny".
Like any suppressed group fighting for freedom and recognition, the feminist movement has made mistakes.
When I grew up in the 70s, I felt more strong, intelligent and capable than any guys I knew. I read "Cosmopolitain", which, as a little girl, was the only thing I found giving advise on how to be influential in the world. The advise was terrible - it talked alot about using sex to achieve. I could be ANGRY but I am more of a feminist than ever.
From a more general perspective, if you read Jack Holland's book, you will see that culturally, in our society and in the past, people really believe(d) that women's only role was/is child bearing and rearing. People are terrified of women coming out of that role. In particular, some *women* are terrified, and fear translates into ANGER.
After reading the afore mentioned book, I am convinced that the fundamental issue in women's rights is reproductive freedom. But freedom is choice; A woman or man who chooses to be a full time parent should receive the same respect as a woman who chooses a career, just as a working woman deserves as much respect/pay as her male counterpart.
However, in my opinion, the woman who wants the best of both worlds is exagerating and making many people of both sexes ANGRY.
Having children is a privelege and not a right.

I believe in equality of the sexes; but there are some aspects of what sometimes passes for "feminism": I consider completely unethical. Advocating equal opportunities for women is one thing: letting women get away with murder (sometimes literally) is quite another, and even as a woman I hate it. (It's possible to hate unfairness even when it's in your favor - any truly ethical person will.)
Injustice is never justified; it doesn't correct the errors of the past in spite of the beliefs of certain reactionary types.

That depends on what you mean by "equality" of the sexes.

Men and women are equal in human worth, always have been. But the problem arises when people think that just because men are better in certain areas and women in others, they're not equal. So feminists come up with this lie that these biological differences are nothing more than a social construct.

You're always going to see more male mechanics and more female nurses, because guys are generally better in mechanics, and girls are generally better at nurturing. The Gender Police, though, want "equal representation" in everything, and they're going against nature here!

Men advance further in careers because they're willing to take more risks (men are the risk-takers) and they're more willing to work longer hours than women are. That's just the way it is. That does not mean that women are inferior.

It all comes down to feminist denial of the scientific FACT that there are biological differences between the sexes.

While I believe in equal OPPORTUNITY, I recognize that due to these differences one should not expect to see equal representation in everything!

They focus on the negative of what men have "lost" rather than on the positive of what they have "gained."

Seems to me that the ones who are angry with feminism are simply all wishing for the (cough) good old days when moms and wives were servants to their men and children.

Instead, males now face greater competition at school and in the job market, males now have to do household chores, and a man's home is not necessarily HIS castle.

It is in part due to the fact that, for the most part in North America, women and men are equals, or seen as equals. The continued rise of feminism will eventually cause women to have rights greater than those of men, and men will be discriminated against based solely on the fact that they are men. This causes anger towards feminism because the feminist movement was to promote gender equality, not to discriminate against men.
