hobby lobby is awesome for that kind of stuff. i'm a poor college student with an ocean/beach themed dorm room. one thing my mom actually made was putting a ton of sea shells glued over any type of lamp. it's not that great for lighting, but when you turn out all the lights and turn on that one, it's really cool. the light scatters and sets the mood really nice. also, the best thing ever is to get one of those umbrellas that come with patio furniture and set it up in your room over a couch. very cool.

You should use your imagination dear girl...you already have so many ideas now...I think you should go to the Dollar General and get some cheap candle holders and decorate them with your very own finds. This will be a special treasure.

A friend of mine bought a fishing net. One of the brown ones, then she decorated it with shells, and other beach item. My mom and my brother both did this in their homes with wreaths. All you need are the materials, some wire, and a glue gun.
Looks really good!
