this is a really specific question...but here it is:

ive been trying to play some black sabbath, im getting the right chords/riffs....but was wondering how i can get that black sabbath sound. i have a line 6 spider III amp with the artist presets-right now im using the iron maiden sound..it sounds like the 70s sound, but i am wondering what i should set my guitar tone settings to...should i turn the treble all the way down? bass all the way down? treble all the way up with bass all the way down?...etc..etc..etc.

Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath

Gain - 7 or 8
Bass - 6
Middle - 6
Treble - 6

Also, Tony played in C# (down 1 1/2 steps) tuning with extra light strings because of his fingers. Use your bridge pickup on your guitar, and it helps to have humbuckers.

Bass at 12 o'clock, mid at 9 o'clock, treble at 11 o'clock. And try tuning down a 1/2 step.

I think Black Sabath tuned their guitars down, if you're guitar is in perfect tune, it won't sound the same
