At my daughters two month shot appt we found out that she had eczema so the Dr changed her milk to soy. It cleared her skin up beautifully. Now the only thing that we are dealing with now is that since the change she has been very constipated something that didnt happen when she was on the other milk formula. Now I want to know what can I give her to relieve the pain because she crys when she goes, and it seems painful. Or maybe something that can soften her stool to make it more easier for her.

Go to the doctor. She's very young and you don't want to treat this without the doctor's input.

ok i had this same problem last week with my baby , i seriously tried eveything nothing seemed to work.... my pediatrition said to give her an ounce of water every morning... which helps alot , if she is really bad constipated and cant go at all the glycerene suppositorys work like a charm. as for the kyro.... the doctor said that wasent a great idea... so i havent tried that... other than that rub her belly with oil move her legs alot and pick her up and hold her on your sholder like you going to burp her and walk around with her ;
oh and you should see if there is a better formula for her... there are lots of soy formulas for you to choose from , im not sure if nestle makes a soy formula but i started using nestle nan and no more constipation ... ok hope that helps :D

My son is 8 weeks and he had the same problem with the eczema and his milk was changed to soy (lactose free) and the doc says to buy the light colored karosyrup and put a teaspoon in 2 of his bottles a day and it did regulate him. Now he's not constipated anymore.

Give her a half and half mixture. Or even start her back on her regular formula. the exzema wasn't caused by the formula and it will always lay dormant for the rest of her life. My son has it. The soy formula just allowed her skin to clear it out. If and when it comes back, just give her soy again. use it as a treatment, don't completely replace her old formula. And also, you can try other formulas. My son can only eat Walmart brand milk based parents choice formula. Absolutely EVERYTHING else gives him diarhea. Good luck, mom!

Best Constipation Cures

We went through the same thing with my son. Our pediatrician told us to add 1 tsp of Karo syrup to his bottle a couple times a day. Once he became regular we cut back on the Karo syrup to once or twice a day. After that, aytime he seemed a little constipated we would just add a little Karo to his bottle. Karo syrup is a sugary syrup, and constipation is often caused by not enough sugar in the digestive tract. It helped him so much and it's completely safe -but before you try anything ask your pediatrician.

Good luck!

I would suggest to go back to milk, get a cream called hydrolatum and mix it with hydrocrotizone..spelling.
Would you rather your child be in pain or just apply cream on a normal thing like eczema. My son it it real bad and with a little bit of cream less bathing, mild soap and caution. the eczema will clear up on it's own.

The REALLY quick fix is to take her temperature rectally - that should stimulate her to go. Otherwise, go to the pharmacy and get some glycerine suppositories - it'll stimulate her to go and smooth the way. (They can be huge - just break off a chunk to use)

The dietary fix is to add some juice. Ordinarily, they don't need it, but in this case, it's to treat a symptom. Try starting with an ounce of juice (prune, apple, grape, pear, or cherry) once a day. If that does the trick, stay with it. (It can take a couple of days to kick in.) Your baby can have one ounce of juice per month of age up to twice a day. (Meaning, you can right now, go to 2 1/2 oz of juice 2x a day.)

I have heard of putting Karo Syrup in the bottles, just about 2 teaspoons or so per 8 oz. bottle. My daughter is on a laxative...Laculose for when she becomes constipated. There are also suppositories for infants, but I have never tried them with my children.

You should contact her Doctor and see if they will prescribe a suppository. In the meanwhile, you can try to lay her on her back, and push her thighs against her tummy, carefully though. The pressure against her tummy can help push feces out of her body. My oldest was allergic to chocolate (through my breast-milk) and even though it was easy to cure, the pressure trick helped ease the discomfort.
