I've been walking for about 2-1/2 months now. So far I've brought down my 1-mile walk from 22min-16min. I tried slowly increasing my speed some days and other days I just went for a longer time at a slower speed. The problem is my knee. I popped it 5-6 years ago and it's never been the same. Just yesterday I was walking(not exercising) and it popped in and out of place. I mean it's one of those pops where you hear it and it hurt for a little while but the pain has mostly gone away. I think it may have done this because of my exercising, but I'm not sure. While I've been exercising, I start to limp and my knee doesn't hurt but I just can't seem to not limp on it. This has only happened since I injured it. I've tried wearing a knee brace but it will still pop in that. I think it may be my tennis shoes too, because I haven't gotten any walking shoes yet. I guess I want to know what I should do to be able to walk easier on that knee like some stretches or anything else i can try. thanks

you've done pretty good so far. i would definitely try icing. and go to a knee doctor because dislocation of the kneecap will get worse and can be serious and is not fun to have. you will probably have to try another brace or do physical therapy. and if you get bored of walking, swimming is supposed to be easy on the joints so you could try that in the summer if you want.

1) R.I.C.E.(rest,ice,compression,elevation) anti-inflamitory pills help also(ibuprofen-advil)
2)Yes change shoes and buy better braces. Yes these are more costly
3)Need to do pyhsical rehab on knee to strengthen muscles and tendons
