I just got the Mirena IUD put in yesterday and I was wondering if anybody had any feedback on what I should expect (this is my first IUD)? Side effects, issues, or positive comments! I'm looking to hear from people who have had a personal experience with Mirena, I've already done all the research and I've read the informational literature put out by Mirena US. Thanks!!

I have had mine for 8 months now. I had spotting off and on for the first 6 months........but haven't had a real period since getting it put in. I love it...........and haven't had any other issues with it.

Let me first say that I hope that you have more luck with yours then i had with mine. I had mine in for about 2 years and the first year everything was ok, just only when my husband and I had sex he would complaine about the strings poking him. the secoondf year was a little harder. When we would have sex it started to hurt and I was always in pain. well I have since had it removed and things haven't got any better It hasn't been confermed that it was the cause but I had never had any of those types of problems before.

I had mine for 3 years and still do. I love it. After 6 month I stopped getting my period. I would definitely get another one after my 5 years up
