I'm assuming you have been inspired by similar writing...I'd say for you to write the kind of book that you'd love to read. Take all the cliches of the genre and see where you can tweak them to throw your readers a welcome curve ball...but remember, when you write for a specific genre, you must maintain at least some of the conventions of the genre. Also, write every day! Even if what you've written is junk!

The concept of the Romance is never going to be original again. And if your adventure has a hero, it too cannot be original. Don't worry so much about being unique or innovative. Just write. It's the only way to get where you want to go.

This is something you are really going to have to do for yourself. Your teacher would know that it wasn't you when it was read. Do you want to take a chance on a failing score?
Start with a little bit of Sleeping Beauty, add some Cinderella, Throw in a long time ago, a couple of dragons a king, queen and you have got the makings of a cool story. Everytime I have my grand daughters over to spend the night I have to tell them a night time story. I do exactly what I told you to do, it works every time.

Adventure - romance.
How about the dashing young attorney, who gets involved with the beautiful but possibly drug addicted former Playmate, and they get involved in a love triangle with a former bodyguard, some kind of unknown background, a prince, a Bahamian official, the playmate's former octogenerian husband, and a convict who sent her his "sample," and the baby is held in an island country, where she is rescued by mercenaries hired by the former Playmate's mother, who lives in a trailer park.
No - no one would ever believe it.

You know, asking people to give you an idea for a story is rather lame. How is anyone going to like a story that they gave away?

It sounds to me like you are to worried about originality and not
enough about writing.
The way I see it, there are no more original plot lines, so the
best thing to do is just sit down and START TO WRITE!
It works for me.
