He was there...but they have arrange seating for camera reasons especially if the people are nominee's or have a large group they are being awarded with..such as dreamgirls.

I know that she did not sit with him, and she did not arrive with him, but that does not mean he was not there. They are a very private couple which may be why they seem so happy when you do see them together.
