The relationship between Italian-Americans and African-Americans is sort of a double edged knife.
Many of them, earlier in the century, grew up in the same poor urban areas, and were often subjected to the same criminal stereotypes. Yet they also had many rivalries as well, as I think, any black or Italian person who lived in New York or New Jersey can attest to.
I think that Italian and African-Americans, especially in those states, from the 'old school' definitely understand each other the more, and thus have less compunction about being more direct in their insults. So the racism is definitely more loud, but perhaps, less deliberately malicious, then say, elsewhere. Its different when its a two-way street.
Also, after Rocky, there were plenty of street fights. Eddie Murphy made fun of Italians too.
That said, this was at a time when Italians were treated the same. As more Italian immigrants 'assimilate' which is easier obviously, from being white, into mainstream American culture, the gap widens, until there is no longer any of that past common ground.
The Mafia and black street gangs often worked together as well, as the Sopranos show.
Yeah, I've used a couple lame stereotypical examples of Black/Italian relations, but they are stereotypical for a reason, and this is such a general question, that it requires a general answer.

If you look hard enough you will find animosity among most races. Some people just cant forget. The past is gone let it stay gone. But people bring up what one race did to the other. Its not a race that does things its a person. I wouldnt let a reality show that is rehearsed get you asking these types of questions. Its TV with that I think enough said. Peace out...............

I really don't know the answer to your question but I am certain that differences between people exists. Sometimes its because of their race sometimes its because of the way people were brought up.
What I don't understand is why would you want to search into animosity? Why bother to fill yourself with negative energy about a person who possibly needs help and obviously is attracting negative energies around him?
Don't contribute to the negative energy he is attracting, rather focus on your beautiful, dreams especially the ones you never think is going to come true because I am living proof, they DO!
Happy dreaming. Happy joys may follow you.

Please don't let Boston Rob be your example of all Italians. He is an ignorant idiot. Most Italians do not act this way, and no, I don't think there is any animosity between Italian people and black people. Racists come in all nationalities and colors.
