If not a movie then she is ready for Broadway.
Musicals are rare and primarily black casts are even rarer.
She has talent but, she is far from a headliner.
Given her age and her physique I think she will have difficulty getting other roles over all the other actresses in the world.
Her Oscar will get her one or two chances but what she does with those chances will tell if she has a career or not.

Probably, but I hope she doesn't fall for the paycheck than losing her artistic integrity. More than likely, she will get more roles that involve her singing at a nightclub at one point or playing the 'sassy black woman' who teaches a reserved and uptight person how to enjoy life. Alicia Keyes' first role was an assassin in Smokin' Aces, so Jennifer Hudson should look for edgier roles and look for a competent acting coach.

I think she still has a lot of maturing to do in order to be taken seriously as a actor. She was awesome in the Dream Girls role but I think going forward she will be more of a TV fixture or guest star until she grows up a bit.

For one, I really dislike her attitude.
Secondly, what did she show as an actress? All she did was sing her way to an Oscar as far as I am concerned.
She'll be throw into some studio movies that Queen Latifah doesn't want to take.

My guess is she'll have more offers for Broadway since there's more need for singers/actors...whereas it's not proven that can she act without singing...and thus casting her is a bit more limited until she gets a break.

Oh, I think we'll see her in some sort of TV series soon...I'm thinking even Desperate Housewives, or ER...she's much more than just a diva-voice, the girl can act, too!
