Yes just after my son was born i dreamed my dead father came to see him.....he was standing at the end of my son's cot smiling at him....I walked into the room and he turned and smiled at me and said 'hes a fine lad' then my dad faded away.
I remember it vividly.
Thanks for asking this question reminded me of it and made me smile .

Many many times, but they are only dreams however frightening they may be. Dreaming of a recently deceased relative or friend is pretty common especially if you know in your dream they are dead as dreamworld can be like an alternate plane but sometimes it's not until you wake up and think about the most vivid dream you realise it was impossible.
In the real world I have occasionally seen shadows out of the corner of my eye or been mystified by wardrobe doors opening fully by themselves and when checked there is no way I can make it happen again but this I blame on my Borg implants.
If you can realise its a dream you are having try communicating with it and you can control that dream.
If you do not realise you are dreaming....run...

Do you mean...........have you ever seen a person in your dreams who has passed on? It's not a "ghost" when it is in your dreams it is partially from your own memories. There are times when a loved one maybe trying to give a message through your dreams and this is why you are seeing them.

A day after giving birth to my son i was at home in bed and was asleep and i woke to feel like i was been dragged down the bed. when i fully woke up I was down the bed. The feeling was the stangest thing, cause i could 'Feel' been dragged. The day before my son was born my father in law past away from cancer then my son was born 12 hours later. I believe something was going on , but my mum begs to differ. She thinks it may be the effect of the gas and air and the trauma of seeing my husbands dad pass away. I honestly believe i was been dragged down the bed by a ghost cause i could physically feel it. It was the strangest thing ever!

Yes. He was my girlfreind's father. I have dreamt of dead people before (he is dead) but in my dreams these people were alive. My girlfriend's dad was dead. I asked him if he was a ghost and he told me "something like that." He would not be specific. He looked like himself but very pale and dusty looking. I think he was giving me a message that he needed some kind of release. I have never had a dream like this, so I believe I was talking to a ghost.

Yes i have; i have petted deceased/ghostly family pets in dreams (mostly cats...including our beloved white/deaf Missy RIP Nov 2002); i saw an ancient egyptian man in at least one or a few dreams (probably not related, probably the guy in a copy of an ancient stone tablet i own); i even saw other people in dreams, but i am unsure who they all are. i cannot account the identity for everyone i dream of. (for example i do not know who the mysterious blond child who offered me a slice of pizza in a dream once was...maybe Missy in human form?) i can say i have recorded scores of dreams, many of them are recorded in poetic or prose form and some are about ex or future bfs/crushes (exboyfriends are like ghosts in a way).

(it is ironic i stumbled upon your question by accident since i happen to have ancestrial ties to uk/ireland (i have an Irish surname btw); i am an American though)

I dreamt about my grandparents as they were when they were very young once but the most memorable experience was shortly after my father in law died he came back to me in a dream and told me that each of his children should receive something from his estate. Unfortuantely he didn't have much as we owned the house he lived in but I did my best.

No, but I dreamt I WAS a ghost in a dream, at my own wake! I was trying to talk to my family and noone could hear me, I thought they were angry with me and ignoring me and then I realised they were grieving and they couldn't see me. Weird eh?

No, but my dad has. His brother had just died and in his sleep his face was there like a misty white. IN the morning he explained this to his family and his sister and mum had had the exact same thing. So maybe its a loved one thing?
That story is also 100% true
