No he is not.
He was bassist for Journey in the 80s though.
The Randy Jackson from the Jackson 5 is 5 years younger than Randy Jackson from Journey and American Idle.

Michael Jackson does have a brother named Randy - Steven Randall Jackson ( Randy ) but its not the guy from American Idol.
