None of my childrens friends do, nor the children at the play-school I help, nor any of the children I have listened to as part of the linguistics degree I'm doing, nor bascially any child I've ever met.
Why do you ask ? Do you have any evidence ?

I have not come across a single instance of any person speaking British English using that awful expression. Most English people use mum (more widespread, but not exclusive to Southern England) or mam (more widespread but again not exclusive to some Northern Counties of England.

I am informed by George (British) that British children generally call their Mothers Mum, not Mom.

I have always called my mum, mum.I wouldn't say its American,as my daughter has called me mom for 38 years. I think mom is a Birmingham thing as everyone i know seems to use the term.I know that trying to buy a mothers day card with mom on it is hard to find, cause my daughter has told me.
Its an interesting question!

No- why would they? We have a perfectly good word of our own. And the pronunciation isn't that different as the accents are different. I agree that there are some basic american spellings which are more logical than the English, but I don't think they will change
