If you don't need to work, but just need something to do with your time why not take classes at a county college. Once there, you may find something you really enjoy. This way the classes you take will be taken into consideration when applying for a position.

Volunteer at your kids school ( it passes the time, your help is appreciated and your done the same time as your kids). See if there is a job opening to be a Teacher's Aid or anything else at the school and see what is required to be able to do this. Not interesting to you.
How about applying somewhere that you wouldn't mind working at, drop of a resume, keep searching and applying. Although you may not have job experience, you are mature, reliable, willing to learn and are quick to learn new things.
A lot of times, experience is not all that important, it's how you carry yourself and your maturity level. An employer will hire anyone if their willing to pull their own weight and willing to work with them. Besides, they will always have to break in new employees, so you should have no problem.

You smile sweetly and say, "I don't have on-the-job experience because I've been a stay-at-home Mom." And don't be nervous. It's okay that you've not worked outside the home before. If it's a problem, let it be their problem, not yours... because you've done a great job with your kids and they're doing well in school.
See, you have experience where it counts the most. Your experience is in dealing with people. Anybody can learn to operate a computer or other techie device, but it takes experience to know how to deal with people in a public setting.
So, find yourself a "people" kind of job to apply for, and go for it. It's all about self-confidence and a great attitude of cooperation and teamwork.

You're in the same boat as anyone getting out of College. Everyone wants experience, but no one wants to give a person experience. If you focus on something that you could claim life experience at it'd be helpful. For instance you've raised 4 kids...try daycare employment.

Can you type and at what speed? can you answer a telephone with a pleasant voice? there are a lot of jobs that you can do but it takes hard work and determination to get into them.
Take classes at you local college, the advisors there can also help.

Don't put yourself down! Think of everything it took to raise a family and keep a home. You have organizing/prioritizing skills, accounts receivable and payable skills, multi-tasking skills & the ability to deal with irate people ( :
Anyway, good luck to you.
