First, you have to make sure you ARE viewing orbs and not dust particles in the air. This can be determined easily in several ways:
* Set up a night vision camera (infrared) - which you have already done: This can be a bit costly, but if you wanted to nail down some solid proof of anything supernatural, this is the way to go. A night vision camera not only looks cool with its green tinge, but its super sensitive - like an thermo-based camera. Now, I've never known an ordinary thermocamera to pick up orbs - whereas a Night vision cam is known to pick up some weird images... so I can't be too sure you've got orbs on your recordings (sometimes the images will look a little distorted).
* Take photos: This is best done with a digital camera, as they pick up orbs better than normal disposable cameras (or any film photographs), also you are able to delete digital photos - so you're saving money. It doesn't have to be an expensive camera, but make sure it's got good quality lens (eg: Sony Cybershot cameras). When you're taking photographs, and you catch orb-like objects on them - you need to observe a few things.
- Does it glow? Most orbs will appear to have a glow around them.
- Does it show distinctive movement? Real orbs apparently show movement on videos AND on photographs (even if they ARE sequence shots)
- Does it come out of thin air? Most orbs appear to turn up out of no where.
- What shape is it? Orbs are supposed to be round. If your orbs are anything between diamond shaped or oval - then its just dust.
- Is it alone? Orbs are known to show up on their own, without other orb company. If you've got more than 2 orbs - it’s most likely a 'pack' of dust. Also, dust show swishy sort of movement - like with an airflow. Orbs seem to have a mind of their own.
- Is there a temperature change? Some orbs are linked with ghostly activity, and sometimes only appear in the presence of a ghost.
However its important to note that with a photographic camera - you can get oil, water droplets or dust on your lens (or in front of it) . This can cause orb-like objects to appear on your photographs. What happens is: the light or flash on the camera bounces onto the dust (or oil droplet... etc), and the shine causes them to appear perfectly round and glowing.
Catching an orb on an infrared camera is rare, (if it IS a real orb). I'll suggest you watch the following (just click on 'em in order to watch - you'll need Flash Player though) , and note if any of the orbs you have look like the ones on the following footages:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPXx963w0WE – Possible Orb (Fly By)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49dWWk6P4VE – Red Mysterious Orb (movement)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bQHaeMAN10 – Apparent Orbs zooming past (with ghost)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDGadNSTYkQ - More orbs (with Night vision Camera)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moFkKH2XsZU - Dust orbs
It's almost worth noting, it may be helpful if you can post a small piece of your footage online somwhere for others to see. If one is able to SEE the evidence, then one can conclude.

At first glance, i would say it was a entity. Its not called a ghost orb, it is called an energy orb. Orbs are nothing but a ball of energy, sometimes believed to be the energy of a spirit. Some natural things could be the cause of this orb. If you live near close proximity of a power line or mass power source, than orbs of energy in pictures or even seen with the eye, is not uncommon at all. Also if there is a lightining storm, energy orbs are common(just energy though, not a spirit). But it doesnt look to be a dust. Possibly a smudge on the camera lens. I just cant say for sure because i dont know what the conditons were where the picture was taken.

Yes, orbs are fairly common and I've seen them a lot on infrared cameras....the trick is knowing whether they're dust or something else! This webpage has some thoughts on what makes orbs dust particles or something more mysterious:

Almost all of the ones I've seen on TV are just specks of dust in a cross-breeze, or just showing Brownian motion.
I used to video things with the old video cameras that had tubes, not CCDs in them. They needed so much light, that I used to use 1KW lights, just in my own home to film things! These very powerful lights did have one useful side-effect, they made particles of dust that you couldn't normally see, perfectly visible! They all looked EXACTLY like the ones you usually see on TV.
Now with lower-light cameras and even infra-red ones, specks of dust show up on them that just cannot be seen normally.
There are a few exceptions though, perhaps only 1 in a hundred or less, where they don't look anything like the dust I saw. Those are much more interesting!
They almost certainly are just dust, invisible to eye, but do show up on infra-red, especially when close to the lens. I see a lot of them on modern camera. However, keep looking for the unusual ones.
Good luck!

Dust and insects will show up on these cameras, also lens flares will show up as orbs at times.
any moving paranormal orbs should have a tail like contrail behind it and should cast a shadow. For more information on paranormal and natural orbs visit this link http://www.ghostweb.com/orb_theory.html.

I used to work surveillance in a casino, when using a certain camera in this one area, we could always see "dust" floating around, so dense that surely it was visible to the naked eye or on another camera in that same area. But when we checked it out, we could never see the amount of "dust". We used to show new workers and tell them it was ghosts. What was it? I don't know, but it looked COOL!

It's dust, and it's pretty normal for security cameras like that. Most of it is probably heading toward your house because your house is blocking any air currents from the other side.

Oh yes, i have seen tons of those. But they are not only in infared security cameras, i have seen them in ordinary digital cameras, cameras that use film, and even saw them in a couple of frames during movies. Many people in my church believe they are actually spirits, and they say that if u zoom in on them close enough you can actually see faces in them.

Maybe you are seeing swarms of bugs, or bats flying around. Or you are seeing pockets of warm air. Or maybe there is something wrong with your camera or control electronics.
Or maybe you just need to call a priest.
