There are endless wonders right here in the United States. Since I am originally from California, I can recommend that state for its amazing variations in sights to behold: deserts, mountains, incredible coastline, lakes, rivers, and a great abundance of wildlife.

I suggest you go there in late spring, before the major tourist season. Do a coastline tour from Los Angeles to San Francisco. There is an Amtrack train called the "Coast Starlight" then head inland to Lake Tahoe. From this incredibly beautiful lake it is a half-day's drive to four national parks: Lassen, Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings. All have majestic mountains, rivers, valleys, and meadows. Then go south parallel to the Nevada border to Death Valley.

If you are the adventurous kind, California definitely will satisfy the Nature Freak in you.

try Iwokrama in Guyana. it is a research station in the heart of amazonian rainforest. they do some tourism there, staying in beautiful cabins built from sustainable local resources. local amerindian guides can take you through the rainforest, telling you about animals, birds and plant-life. river trips, turtles, caiman..........

if you want combine it with a trip to the savannas eg dadanawa ranch or to see river otters karanambo ranch

what you will see is truly out of the way and unspoilt
