who said tall muscular is good looking and short and fat not good looking ..is it an instinct, i believe i heard people in the old days preffered a fatter person .. most old paintings have big women ..why? is it the media that says who's good looking or not?

i think for me personally i like to know my man can protect me. the idea of having a strong man is like a comfort. and its instinct that the man HAS to be taller than me. i dont know why. but with some women, we like to look at a mans rock hard body but it aint all that comfortable so sometimes u want a lil gush. i personally like the rock hard but some women like a lil gush. good luck!!

Preference for thin/muscular is just current fashion. Yes, in the 1950's and before they liked chubby women (not super fat though). Today, we have more understanding about our bodies and thus more control over what shape we keep our bodies in. We have more choice as to what we wwish to find attractive because we can shape our bodies more than any time in the past. Its more feasable for muscular men and thin women to be in vogue because we now know about exercise and nutritional strategies. In the 1950's there weren't any gym's to go work out in and the concept of exercising simply for health wasn't mainstream at all.

I think there are a number of factors. Media has a large part in what we perceive to be attractive. It often makes me sick to watch beautiful young women transform and disfigure themselves in order to be accepted and loved. Additionally, there are many men who will stop at nothing to appear the most powerful and muscular man on the street. This is also sad.
But I do think that, by nature, women see bigger, more muscular men as secure, strong, and aptly able to provide. Men view a woman who is smaller and physically weaker as a girl they can protect and take care of.
Call it sexist or whatever, but it's how we were designed.

I have met alot of men who like well padded woman. Beiing slender ,this has made me wish that I was more buxom. If big muscular guy were to go with a small woman, their daughters maybe big and robust and their sons small and slender haha

it's our instinct, stemming all the way back from when humans chose mates based on how well they could survive, and if they would breed good babies. the tall, muscular men looked like they were built for survival.
