You're young, aren't you?
After awhile you'll realize not to take everything so seriously, especially when it revolves around you.
I am a mom of a 17 month old and carrying baby #2. I'm a wife, daughter, and sister.
Am I burden? No.
Hopefully some day you'll realize that you aren't a burden either.

It is not uncommon at some of our low points in life to feel this way. You don't give much information to work with in answering your question. Are you ill or have you had a recent life altering experience such as a death, a divorce, retiring from work? All these things can bring about depression and a feeling of low self worth. If any of those things or something else has happened in your life see your physician. He/She should be able to help you decide what the best course of action for you to take is. Unlike that young lady that told you to basically "get over it" as a nurse I know that sometimes we can't merely "get over it" in this life. Please seek some help and good luck.

No, and get over it unless you have an illness that has incapacitated you. Then you have a reason. Otherwise, get a hold of your self-esteem and start doing things for yourself. You are never to old to try something new. Rather than saying I can't, say I'm going to try it. It will be very, very, very hard when you start, but little by little it gets easier and you feel so much better about being me sometimes.
Did you happen to see that one episode of Nip/Tuck last year when the 0obese woman was so overwhelmed by the thought of picking up the house she never got off the couch and ended up having the fabric of the couch attach to her skin because she also used the couch for a bathroom.

There are times when I get tired and worn out. I feel like I'm really not doing anyone much good.
But we all can find purpose. The details bog us down and sometimes and details are all we see then. Look for the big picture. It is the old cliche you cant see the forest for teh trees.
Go to the mountain and meditate. Ask what is the meaning of your life? What can you do? What would you like to do?

It may be because you're in a state of unrest. Your spirit is longing for something more and you don't know quite what or how to achieve it.
It's unfortunate that greater society is quite selfish. They value keeping others out and not sharing. No one really knows one another really anymore (unless you live with extended family, say.....on a reservation). People need to value each other more and value our Mother (Earth). There are great causes out there to stand for and in that process you will find some peace. Good luck!
