The current CCNA exam is perhaps the hardest technical exam today. The passing score is 849 out of 1000 which leaves very little room for error. Most passing scores for Microsoft and Cisco are around the 700 level out of 1000.
There are simulation exam questions on this exam, as there are on other Cisco exams, where you have to enter streaming commands exactly correct (not shortcuts).
Your best approach would be to attend a hands-on long class (7 days or so). CED Solutions, www.cedsolutions.com, has one that includes airfare and lodging for $2,995. You will need to study the whole week and do all of the labs and exercises. There is also an extra voucher should you not pass the first time.
