You can't. That's why you have to take special measures if you decide to meet anyone in real life. Meet in a public place, with witnesses. Have an itenerary with a friend or relative, and get their identification as soon as possible. Then you can run their ID with the police or whoever, to see just how safe this person really is. Never go away together on a first date. Use common sense.

Hey there, well first of all myspace is a huge web and is very difficult to pin point a good or bad person...what I recommend is to use your own judgement and take care of your information as good as you can...first put your site private. And never disclose your personal info...address, real name ect...try to be as private as possible...
and then when anybody wants to be your friend you have the chance to view their profile before you accept their invitation..or email them if they are also private but if its too much trouble then don't even bother. I rather have few known friends then thousands of fools trying to get sassy...
what I do is that I don't accept people that I don't really have the feel just go by your judgement...
and again just be really cautious about what you write in your page.

Take care!
K

There isn't a checkbox in your profile that says "I am a bad guy" so there's no certain way to tell. It's VERY easy to lie online, and about the only way to be 100% sure is to trust your gut, don't get too personal with someone you don't really know, don't give out personal info, and DO NOT meet up with anyone in real-life without having bodyguards, a video team, and the cops waiting on hold on your cell phone.

Is this over-doing it? Maybe a little, but there's no way to really know. Why else do you think police departments make a big deal about how they con some perverted guys into coming out to a motel to meet up with some 13-year old girl? You can't really know who you're talking to....

Unfortunately you can not!
You can be aware of the content of their page.
But just like walking down a crowded street theres no way to know what hides behind the eyes!

Assume everyone on the internet is "different". Ask yourself this: Why do people want to socialize on computer, rather than go out and meet others.

Look in their trunk...if they have duct tape, ropes, chloroform, bags of lime and shovels, stay away.
