Running that many isn't good, for the computer, but avg from what I heard is one of the best. But if you go to this site, they'll help you out. They've helped me out a number of times.

The best way is to download Ccleaner here http://bitly.com/UrALrK

Or you can go on Windows operating system locate the command prompt and go there to do the following:
Create a Recovery file of system and date it today.

Then begin by;
delete the 'Temp' folders..they have hidden subfolders so you need to set the attributes in order to bypass this. For each subfolder delete all cookies and rubbish left behnd after install-uninstalled programs. Do a 'dir' command to check your progress. Make sure the 'Temp' file is empty.

goto c:\windows\prefetch and delete everything in there..no exceptions

goto c:\windows folder and delete all the '$' files that have been installed by updates. They can all be succesfully deleted and just take up disk space.

Locate the Internet Temporary Files..Check to see how high the saving level is..some have it set at 30 days..but that stores faaaar tooo much data..though it slows down the system overal. Keep this to a minimum..suggest 2 or 5 at most.

Delete all 'cookies' all those you don't need.

Locate the windows directory and go through the folders you know and those you don't need. Check this once a week at least. Some programs will install under XP as NT and older systems where there is no check of systems weight.

Check to see that system files have not changed since last booting. Things like .ini files or .bat are important items.

Check for 'Hidden Directories' all over the disk...do this at the command prompt:

dir *.* /ah wil show these hidden directories

Check the 'dir' command for all parameters

I use AVG and Symantec - I did have Norton and I think it had a virus it it so I removed it. I'm not sure which program is best for spyware though. But if ur computer is slow and is sticking/freezing, then your computer memory might be full. To try and speed it up defragment your hard drives - do this by going to control panel and then to performance and maintenance - and then rearrange items on ur hard drive. Also go to My computer - right click on C drive and got to properties - disk cleanup. Removes all the temp folders and other things that you dont need which could be slowing down the computer. I do this every few days (disk cleanup) and defragment every few weeks. Also have daily virus scans (2 times a day)

this is a common problem in todays p.c,s,allthough todays p.c,s are equipped to clean themselves and most have up to date anti-virus and anti-spyware software installed they still become sluggish after about 6 to 12 months of use
ask any advanced p.c user and they will tell you to re-install the operating systen(windows xp)every 6 onths or so
this is because after so long there are so many registry and files errors, and even after defragging the p.c just wont get the original speed back
there are numerous programs avalible that can speed up yout p.c such as advanced windowscare personal(http://www.iobit.com/)and ccleaner(http://www.ccleaner.com/),but these are just quick fixes and dont sort out the deep seeded problems
you can also use a registry cleaner to sort out invalid and obsolete registry entries as doing this manually can be exremely hard and dangerous,i recommend registry mechanic(http://www.pctools.com/registry-mechanic/),this is about the safest program of this type and actually does a good job
although windows has a defragging tool, you would be much better off with a 3rd party defragging program,i recommend o+o defragg(http://www.oo-software.com/en/products/oodefrag/),unlike the windows defragger you can use this defragger and continue with your work, however its much easier to just leave this running when you are away from your p.c
your spyware software seems to be in order,i tend to use about 4 spyware programs, spybot, adaware persoanl, spyware blaster, and windows defender, these a;; keep me pretty well spyware free
we can install as many speed up programs as we can,but the only realistic way to increase your p.c,s speed is to add more memory(ram),i recommend you double your current memory, this way you are more likely to see the improvements gained, when i upgraded from 1gb ram to 1.5gb ram i noticed the difference straight away, and the upgrade was only £35(ddr(pc3200))
sometimes the reason for a slow p.c can be down to the hardware, for example,a ageing harddrive cam dramatically reduce the access speeds to the data, thus slowing down your p.c,i have noticed this when fixing older machines using the p.a.t.a hard drive connections compared to the newer serial a.t.a connection,so a new hard drive(s.a.t.a if possible) would be a wise investment,
so a 512mb memory upgrade(£35),a new 80gb hard drive(£30) and you can give your p.c a new zest of life.you would probally pay a computer shop £60 to fix yur p.c anyway and at least this way you know what you are putting in your p.c
there are many online scanners to check for viruses, but the most effective one is microsofts malicous software removal tool(http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx),this will check for all of the most destructive viruses in the wild, and if found remove them, note:this wont affect your current anti-virus software so do not uninstall it
also there are memroy tools that can free up memory thats being wasted or lost,memtest(http://www.memtest.org/)is a memory diagnostic tool that can diagnose any problems you are having with your memory
all these tests are just stop gapsbut together can help the smooth running of your p.c,i tend to set aside a evening just to run maintenence on my p.c,this can be in the shape of security scans, defraggs, and the ruuning of diagnostic tests
most problems you will find in windows xp and other versions can be looked up and investigated at the microsoft knowledge base(http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1)
i hope this information helped you
good luck

You also might need to clean your system up. Try www.ccleaner.com. This app works great for doing this and it is free and spyware/virus free.

visit this website: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php
it has a number of useful utilities to fight spyware/adware.

i personally use hijackthis to scan active process, browser help object, and startup programs. you can post your hijackthis log to this website if you are unsure with what you see http://hijackthis.de/

but just be careful before deleting anything...
