I don't think so, as long as these tribal groups are fighting to see who will be boss. There is a lot of money as a prize in these oil rich places, and none of them wants to share. They have a history of wars about religious beliefs, and are taught from infancy that they are right and everyone else is wrong. No hope when they can't agree, and want to kill off everyone else. This goes back to the 12th century.

there will b no chance for peace..unforntunately, as long as the american forces still present in Iraq....it might b a slight chance of peace when the thing called BUSH..getta hell outta the white house but..as we know there always somethings going on in the midde east....there can only be absolute peace when all the crazy Muslim fanatics, extremist, destroy all of themself by the self-bombing the heck outta each other...

cordova -- good of you to be concerned in what happens on the other side of our small planet, specially as far as children are concerned. since they are harmless and powerless to stop anything that goes against their well being. i am speechless on what is transpiring both in Iraq and elsewhere that affect children's lives. yes, there is hope for the peace in the m.e. process. time is on the side of the peace process-- since "life of the politician" is limited not only by his tenure but also dictated by the life expectancy of every human being on this planet. hope it helps.
