I don't know. Were you.

I was in a theatre filled with people and some thought it was okay and some thought it stunk. I guess it depended on what you brought to the film.

I read both of Browns books going into the film and thought it was going along okay but then cuts were made that made the movie nothing like the book, especially the ending.

To this day nobody gets who Sophie was. The don't get where the grail is buried. They don't get what the grail is all about.

I personally thought the casting was attrocious. Tome Hanks was way too old for his role and the girl who played Sophie was a Brunette and not a Red Head. Think to the painting, Mary is supposed to have read hair. It is a key point to the story.

Another key point was paganism which gets swept under the table in the end. The whole grandfather/ grandmother story line got swept under the table at the end.

It was a coherent movie but it was not the same movie I thought I would be seeing.

Here's hoping Angels and Demons goes to another director and cast.

I was a little disappointed with the casting (Lord Teabing s/h/b short, fat, and gimpy), but I thought the movie was true enough to the book. It's hard for a movie to match the suspense and intensity of a good book. In both the book and the movie I was disappointed with who the bad guy turned out to be. And, in the movie it's not clear enough that Sophie and the church tour guide are brother and sister.

But, all in all, I thought it was a good movie. A lot of people just object to the whole concept of the story, because it challenges the perception of their faith. I think it can be healthy to challenge your faith from time to time.
